Across the world, majority of people spent this year inside, at spaces and tables similar to this. From these domestic spaces, we witnessed month after month an array of chaotic events unfold before our eyes. This body of work is a collection of 12 photos, one for each month, with an accompanying text describing the monthly feelings. It is the story of the year 2020, at the table.
This project is an attempt to put feelings to art about the year’s happenings. In addition to all the forms of inspiration for this, one came from the beautiful photo series The Kitchen Table Series (1990) by artist Carrie Mae Weems. It is an important and impactful photo series, definitely take a moment to look at it if you like.
